Uncle George Party at Step Aside Farm

The Uncle George Party 2026 returns to Step Aside Farm in Blanco, George, for a series of festive evenings from 4 to 20 December. With Santa Claus, a fairy, Christmas carols and activities for children, this annual family event brings a relaxed Christmas celebration to the Garden Route.

The evening begins at 5pm, giving families time to settle in and enjoy the picnic-style atmosphere. Children can look forward to meeting Santa and his fairy friend at the magical castle. There’s also a magician, a marching band, Noddy and friends, and Christmas carols under the stars.

Adding to the festive fun, each guest receives an ice cream, while children receiving presents from Santa get a packet of sweets from the Fairy.

One important thing for parents to remember is to bring a wrapped Christmas present for each child who will receive one from Santa. The gift should be no bigger than a shoebox, clearly labelled with the child’s name and placed in a black bag for collection by the elves at the entrance. Santa’s gift handover is intended for children aged 0 to 10.

There will be plenty of food stalls where families can buy supper, along with craft stalls to browse. The Uncle George Party also supports charitable causes, including the George Homeless Shelter and local animal welfare and food relief organisations. Visitors are encouraged to bring cash for donations.

Tickets are R40 per adult or child, with a special opening-night price of R20 per person on 4 December. Babies under one enter free.

The event takes place on ten selected evenings, with gates opening at 5pm and closing for entry at 6:30pm. The festivities finish by 9pm.

For families looking for affordable Christmas activities in George, Uncle George Party offers an evening of seasonal entertainment, time together and an opportunity to support local causes.
