The Big Tree is the main attraction, which always seems much larger in real life since it is almost impossible to capture a photo of the entire tree.
When you are done taking family photos and selfies in front of the Woodville Big Tree, we recommend the short 30-40 minute walk around the forest. The short walk goes in a loop, and you end up near the Big Tree.
On this 2km stroll, you can enjoy a wide range of colourful mushrooms, fungi plants and insects. Cross the river streams and relish in the sounds of a variety of birds.
End your walk with an enchanted picnic or a forest braai. Equipped with picnic tables, braai facilities and toilets.
Tips: Take a picnic basket or make a braai – remember the grill! Permits are obtainable at the entrance gate of the forest.
