As much as we all enjoy frolicking in the waves and getting dunked by the sea, there are times when all we want is some total chill at the beach.
We want nothing that would rattle our nerves or unsettle us in any way. A beach with an occasional wave that is only big enough to annoy a toddler sitting in a bit of shallow seawater. A place where the water is serene, and we can almost see the sun baking down on the hot sand.
With restaurants a short hop, skip, and a jump away, you could spend an entire day at Santos and never get frazzled, except for dipping your toes in the water or re-adjusting the beach towels at base camp.
If you come early, you could find space under one of the thatched beach umbrellas, which means you can carry less. All you really need is water, beach towels, sand-castle tools, and of course sunscreen!
Young kids enjoy Santos because they don’t get nervous in the water, which is essentially waveless. Like any situation with a large body of water, you should always keep your eyes on your kids.
Lifeguards are stationed close to The Jackal. The Jackal is the restaurant where you want to do lunch if you are at Santos. Restrooms are situated on either side of the beach.
So chill, relax, pack some virgin cocktails and enjoy a calm relaxing day at Santos Beach in Mosselbaai!
