There is no better way to ease into a holiday mindset than to spend the first few days of your holiday on placid waters. One of our favourites is the Swartvlei Lagoon near Sedgefield. You can easily spend a day or two fishing, skiing and tubing along the shores of this idyllic setting.
There is no public access to the lagoon side where powered vessels are allowed so you need to launch at the Baywater Village resort for a small fee.
Renting a boat for the day is also surprisingly accessible in the Garden Route. All you need is someone with a SAMSA Skippers license.
