Chess was one of the few activities that received a boon of new players during COVID pandemic, that could be because the popular Netflix series Queen’s Gambit and because you can play chess remotely with friends and foes from around the globe.
But as many professional and amateur chess players will tell you, nothing beats playing chess on a real board with the opponent sitting directly in front of you. Chess is also a game that can be enjoyed by the whole family, from as young as 6 years old.
If you feel like doing something different – then going to the George Chess club for a game of chess before or after dinner at one of the nearby restaurants is a great way to spend a Thursday evening.
