Most kids love to explore sea creatures and get a feel for the sea at their own pace at the Herolds Bay tidal pool.
There are countless rock pools, rocky areas and – did we mention a huge tidal pool to swim or snorkel in? If you are lucky, you might spot an octopus, starfish and small tropical fish with the occasional urchin. Rock shoes are recommended.
The main beach is a short stroll away, where kids can pick up shells, build sandcastles and buy soft-serve ice cream.
Parking will be challenging if you show up in peak season, so get dad to do a quick drop-off before he parks the car.
Tips: Bring your rock shoes, buckets and sunscreen and always plan your day around low tide.
