The Jakkalsvlei wine farm, situated near the Herbertsdale area in the Western Cape, is a beautiful family-owned vineyard that has been producing award-winning wines since 1972.
The farm is located in a valley with the stunning Outeniqua Mountains as its backdrop, and it takes about 40 minutes to get to the wine farm from Mossel Bay. Jakkalsvlei is one of the must-see wine farms in the Garden Route area.
The farm produces a variety of grape cultivars, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinotage, Shiraz, and Merlot and produces white, red, and rosé wines. Jakkalsvlei’s wines have won numerous awards at local and international competitions.
The farm also produces a Methode Cap Classique (MCC), which is a sparkling wine made in the traditional French method.
