Discover the Cango Wildlife Ranch: A Wildlife Extravaganza in Oudtshoorn

Situated in Oudtshoorn and en route to the famed Cango Caves, the Cango Wildlife Ranch offers an opportunity to engage with wildlife of all shapes and sizes. The Ranch also functions as a Lion and Cheetah conservation centre.

With a range of 90 species, including lions, cheetahs, crocs, pygmy hippos, and many colourful birds, you’ll likely need a full day to take in all the wonders at the Ranch. You might even spot a leopard to cap off an unforgettable visit.

For toddlers and tweens, a play park with a petting zoo is available, featuring the customary farm residents such as sheep, geese, and tortoises.

If you’re a fan of creepy crawlies and slithering creatures, you’ll love checking out the Cango Wildlife Ranch’s impressive collection of spiders and reptiles.

The Ranch goes further in promoting wildlife understanding, providing opportunities for animal encounters and educational tours.

PLEASE NOTE THAT CROCODILE CAGE DIVING AND CROCODILE FEEDING IS CLOSED FOR THE DURATION OF WINTER DUE TO THE CROCODILES BEING LESS ACTIVE DURING THIS PERIOD.

Wildlife Encounters and Restrictions:

• Cheetah and Big Cat Feed (tiger/leopard) – Must be 14 years or older and exceed 1.5m in height


• Crocodile Feed – Participants must be at least 10 years old and accompanied by a legal guardian


• Vulture Encounter – Requires participants to be 12 years or older, with the accompaniment of a legal guardian


• Lemur and Snake Encounters – Suitable for those 5 years and older, provided they are accompanied by a legal guardian


• Photographic Mementos – We capture your experiences and offer these photographs for purchase at our photo centre


• Under 14 Supervision – All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a legal guardian


• Age Limit – Unfortunately, children under 5 cannot participate in these experiences


• Pregnancy Precaution – We do not recommend any cat encounters for women who are pregnant


• Differently-Abled Guests – We strive to accommodate guests with different abilities, but it’s not always possible. Please contact us in advance for assessment and potential time-slot booking.
